Cal Thomas has a great analogy to the current peace process:
In the James Bond movie "Live and Let Die," "007" encounters a nest of crocodiles bent on having him for a meal. Armed only with pieces of chicken, Bond tosses the fowl at the crocs to hold them off until he figures out an escape plan. The crocks quickly consume the chicken, but keep pressing toward their ultimate objective. Which brings us to Israel's forced removal of residents from Gaza. Israel is "Bond." The pieces of chicken represent land. The Palestinian/Arab/Muslim side are crocodiles. Get it? Most Westerners do not. Israel tosses pieces of land at the Palestinian side, but once it is consumed, the Palestinians only want more until their real objective - the consumption of Israel - is reached and their hunger satiated.

I just read an article where a Hamas terrorist referred to Tel Aviv by the Arabic name of "Tal al-Rabi".
Before 1909 did the Arabs live in a sand castle village called Tal al-Rabi before they were brutally expelled by the Zionists who renamed it Tel Aviv?
Not to get off topic, but when I saw the title I knew this had to be a post of yours, PT. This is one of my very favorite songs.
And now to get on topic, I agree with the analogy and I also regretfully believe that peace is not the end goal. When I was young and more idealistic I believed otherwise. But sadly, not anymore.
I won't argue with the meat (no pun intended) of your argument, but when you say "our Muslim friends," it seems like you are referring to all Muslims, and that is unfair. Please at least say "Palestinians," or "Israel's Arab neighbors" (depending on whom you are talking about).
I certainly don't mean to include those Muslims who are friends of Israel, approve of the Jewish state and are happy to let it live in peace.
I just don't hear much from them, whomever they are.
